U18s White Vs Wollaton Hall Yellow

A game in which we dominated for long spells, but a failure to convert several guilt edge chances was our eventual downfall. From the first whistle we were positive in our approach & with Alex playing in a holding midfield role in front of Eddie & Nathan, we dealt comfortably with most attacks that came our way. At the other end, Oliver was looking sharp & chasing lost causes, putting the opposition defence under pressure. We conceded a free kick near the corner flag midway through the first half, but the ball was placed in a favourable position for the free kick taker & a deflection from a trailing leg, looped the ball up & over Makai in goal.
This only spurred us on & Jack equalised just before half time. Alex went on a run from midfield & seemed to be fouled on the edge of the area. the referee was unmoved, but the ball fell favourably for Jack who had continued his supporting run & finished well.
Mikey & Eddie had both put in a solid display & were replaced by Coby & Ben just before half time.
The team turned up the pressure in the second half & had the lions share of possession. A free kick taken by Jack, that was destined for the top corner was well saved by the Wollaton goalkeeper & there were chances for Coby, Ben & Nathan which either went wide, saved or were blocked by the opposition defenders.
Unfortunately we lost possession from a short corner & were undone by a counter attack. We still had chances to equalise but the final result didn't reflect on the teams performance.

For his defending qualities & overall solid display, Eddie was voted the Man of the Match.
